Pale blond color, with small head. Light aroma of bread dough. The mouthfeel is not weak and it’s dry; very light flavor of straws and cereals; ordinary bitterness; light oily feeling; light residual sweetness or sweeteners in the final.

Poured from 330mL bottle a few months after the best before date. Dark black with minimal beige head. Roasted coffee and sweet vanilla aroma. Strong roast flavour, starts sweet into a slightly hoppy bitter. Medium body. Would like to try again before the best before date.

Purchased at West Lakeview Liquors in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home on a nice quiet Tuesday night nursing some bum legs. Appearance is a rich, thick black with a modest, frothy tan head. Aroma of mocha, mint, chocolate, light vanilla, coffee, and roasted malt. Taste is rich in roasted chocolate malt, biscuit, finishes dry, one previous reviewer stated it tastes as if you have two pennys in the back of your mouth, and it does have a lightly metallic finish which is done well. I think this stuff is pretty great!

Pours pitch black with a smooth light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, hints of licorice and coffee. Taste is roasty and smooth with notes of salty licorice, ash and hints of coffee. Finish is smooth and slightly roasty with some fruity notes and hints of licorice. Quite tasty and balanced porter.
