Tried at the Lincoln beer festival 2015. Deep ruby brown with an off white head. Slight hoppy aroma, but a fruity and dark malt taste. Very nice.

Bottle from the Pheasantry Beer Shop. The colour of my pugs wee, or pale straw with a thin white head. Aroma is very light citrus, taste orange and slightly sweet. Delicate.

500ml bottle from Pheasantry brewery beer shop. Deep Amber colour with an off white head. Malty caramel aroma, the taste is the same starting out with the caramel sweetness and finishing with a touch of bitterness.

Pint from the Clangers, Waddington. Amber colour with an off white head. Aroma has spice almost Christmas with malt and an earthiness. Taste starts sweet with a spicy pepper kick.

Cask at Three Tuns, Dronfield - Deep brown body, thick lacing beige top. Nose is burnt toast, a bit of toasted cereal, bit of coffee. Taste has a dark fruit quality about it, with the roastiness getting in there as well. Enjoyable.

Cask at the Wellington; clear light copper pour with a bubbly off white head, a hint of dark fruit on the aroma, taste has some smooth roast malt action along with some stoned dark fruits.

Hand-pulled pint in The Portland Hotel, Chesterfield on 20th Nov 2014. Like it’s name suggests, this is a dark ale: dark chestnut in fact, with a creamy textured beige head on top. The head produced some impressive, heavy lacing as the beer level dropped in my straight sided Uk pint sleeve. Both the nose and taste were fruity with a roasted/toasted maltiness as a base, slight bitter and hop finish, but this is a malt driven brew with a good depth of body and flavour.

Bottle at the Room 118 tasting, Tulip Hotel Bodegraven, post BBF 6 day 1 26/09/14 thanks to Ian. Chestnut brown with a moderate beige covering. Nose is dark malts, spice, brown bread, hint of ginger. Taste comprises dark malts, bready, dark fruit notes, a little bland. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Below average mild.
