Draft at Fred & Ethel's Lantern Light Tavern in Smithville, NJ. Number one with a bullet. Dark brown pour. Quickly dissipating tan head. Aromas of dark coffee, vanilla and dark chocolate. Smooth and roasty. sticky mouthfeel. Some booziness as well.

Undated can from Airforcehops, drunk 8/21/24. Weirdly-fizzy pour with a dark beige head that slowly fizzles down. Is it opaque?! Can't tell. It might be! Why would you want your lager to be opaque?? So many questions. The nose is fruity, herbal, with a dark element that is playful and with a lingering big yeastiness and coffee character. Very different, but interesting, for sure. Coffee and fruit up front with a round, berry-like character. Somewhat fizzy mouthfeel to go with the fizzy appearance. Maybe it's gently lactic. Feels like they either added coffee here and this went bad, or the dark malt is just too tannic for its own good. Really feel like they added coffee here, as this is just too beany and lactic and roasty to explain it otherwise. Has obviously gone South since my compatriots tried it.

Can pour from trade with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Opaque dark brown with no sparkle, thin head fading quickly to a ring and trace lacing. Aroma is strong sweet malt, chocolate, toffee, mild earth. Taste is an almost fruity malt, milk chocolate, toffee. Smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation and earthy finish with light bitterness. A lot to like. The earthy bitterness doesn't add to it for me.

12 oz can from the brewery. Aroma shows coffee, roasted grain, and earthy grain. Flavor is a reflection with a little bit of chocolate and balanced by mild bitterness.. Crisp , dry texture. For such a low ABV beer it has a ton of flavor. Quite good!

4 oz draft. Aroma and flavor are a copy. Caramel, chocolate, coffee. Body and texture are very respectable for a dry stout at such a low alcohol by volume.
