Bottle thanks to Steve. Pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is great bourbon barrel vanilla brown sugar chocolate sweetness roast malts. Taste is more of the heavy roast malts chocolate bourbon barrel notes vanilla and a light ashy note.

Thanks to Aaron for the hand delivered bottle just because I hooked him up with some BCBS in Casper.
Pours a hazy to cloudy deep brown colour ala a Thomas Hardy Ale. Small and then no head of foam, no lacing.
Huge caramel malt and dark fruits in the smell with port like notes. Got all of that immediately following removing the waxed cap. That. .got me all excited.
How is the taste, Bitterbill? Exactly like what the smell indicated. Caramel malt that is sweet but not overly so. Dark pitted fruit and that unmistakable taste of Port as in a properly cellared Thomas Hardy. I reckon that this is THE closest to That wonderful elixir the US has to offer.
Sticky full mouthfeel with the gentlest carbonation.
This is absolutely fabulous. Amazing. Incredible.
Easily makes it to my top 5 beers ever. Maybe even number 1. I’ll decide that when I am finished.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Pours clear reddish brown colour with a huge most good lasting beige head. Aroma of dark riped fruits, wood, vanilla, red berries, alcohol. Taste of intense hops, red malt, wood, red fruits, vanilla, warm alcoholic finish, more an Imperial IPA!

Intense malty nose with lots of dried fruits. The beer starts intense and a it sharp. Dry, dried fruit, moderate bitterness. Sticky sweetish with lots of dry dried plums, dry sour cherries on an intense molasses basis. Sticky sweetish but dry and a bit sourish aftertaste. Interesting stuff.

Bottle from Libations. Pours light brown. Smells and tastes fairly sweet and malty. Has kind of a brown sugar / molasses thing going on that makes it pretty sweet. Solid flavor overall. Medium bodied with a solid mouthfeel. Nice beer.

Bottle shared at tasting. Filtered burgundy orange body. Foamy off-white head. Very nice Barleywine. Maybe leaning into English style, with a hint deeper hop bill. Pine, molasses. Sweet and sugary, but not overly sticky or cloying. Refreshingly true to style. Really well done.

750ml bottle. The barrel tones are there, but the Old Ale still shines. Really maintains a solid balance. Smooth caramel tones. Supreme balance. The best Old Ale I’ve had in some time.
