bottle from Warsaw. Deep ruby colour, red-brown; beige head. Intensive malty aroma. Full-bodied, pleasantly sweet malty base with lots of dried fruits such as dried dates, figs, raisins... Dry towards the finish with caramel, toffee fudge, biter chocolate, cocoa powder. Smooth and velvety palate, incredibly drinkable. A delcious beer, wish I had more of it.

500 mL bottle from Total Wine West Richmond, VA. Pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, raisins, chocolate, earthy notes. The taste is cherries, raisins, chocolate, roasted malts, anise and a faint hoppy finish. Medium-full bodied, soft carbonation and a faint bit of booze. Nice.

Bottle from the Norwegian vinmonopolet. Dark amber colour, with a small off white head. Strong and a very deep sugary sweetness of malt and caramel. Sweet candy nose.

[9/16/11] Mahleket Hanikot Shotrim ’11 tour. Memory ratings of the stolen notepad #8: Bottle at Sketch ’owe in Warsaw after failed attempts to find Czeska Baszta. Dark brown. Strong and somewhat sugary sweetness of malt, caramel and some toastiness.

0.5l bottle. Pours a clear deep reddish body with a small bubbly caramel head. Aroma is sweet, lots of dark caramel with notes of rum-raisins, licorice and hints of nuts and chocolate. It has a light sticky mouthfeeling, average carbonation and medium to light-bodied. Really sweet flavors. Some burned pungent and almost metallic caramel notes, and it also has some hints of some nuts and black currants in the finish. Ends kinda quick and watery. Drinkable, but not really good.

0.5l bottle that pours a deep deep brown body with a small reddish hue and a big chocolate-tanned dense head. Aroma is light sweet and roasted with notes of thin chocolate and red caramel. Soft carbonation, quite full-bodied and it has a thick and oily mouthfeeling. Tasted quite nice. Light sweet, mild roasted, some chocolate and some licorice. Ends really caramel- and chocolate-sweet . Good porter!

Bottled@Kahdet Kasvot, Tampere. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma and flavour are both hayish, grassy, bready malts as well as some slight grainy and rubbery notes.

bottle, donated by my friend Monika - bardo dziekuje! Deep golden, nearly amber colour, slightly hazy perhaps, large white head. Sweet malty nose. Full-bodied, rather sweet and very grainy, robust malty base with some rather nice resiny hops tuned in. Bitter-sweet character, rather dry, hoppy palate. Good strong lager.

bottle, kindly donated by Schroppfy - Thank you! Deep black colour, large and creamy beige head. Promising aroma of chocolate, cocoa powder and dark fruits. Full-bodied, intensiovely malty with loads and loads of bitter chocolate, cocoa powder, shy hints of caramel, nuts and raisins. Not sweet, yet very malty. Perfectly balanced, a delight!
