500ml from Bestillingsutvalget, Vinmonopolet. Lots of small dimples to a frothy and fawn coloured head, displaying a solid stand. Deeply, near-black in the glass with a brownish shade if held to the light. Aroma of dark malts, containing coffee and anise. Fine blended flavour of dark chocolate and earthy malts with an integrated backdrop of dark fruits. Subdued sweetness and alcohol. Gets a bit grainy after an hour in the glass, otherwise well rounded to the palate and pleasant to drink (Tromsø, 10.04.2010).

Flaske 0,5 l fra bestillingsutvalget til Vinmonopolet. Dyp dyp rødbrun. Nesten svart. Et lavt lysebrunt skum. Innbydende sjokoladepreget aroma. Smaken er svakt søtlig med innslag av sjokolade. Kaffesmaken dominerer etterhvert sammen med en anelse bitterhet. Velbalansert. KI=6

Bottle. It pours a clear, dark brown body with a reddish hue. It has a finger-thick beige head that leaves lacings. The aroma has a touch of diacetyl, with a good dash of coffee and dark chocolate. Slightly nutty, with hints of dried fruits, quite roasted. In the far back, a whiff of dms hides, but overall, a really pleasant aroma. It’s full-bodied, smooth and creamy in the mouth, with an appropriated level of carbonation. Some hoppy bitterness lingers, slowly wiping away the initial flavors of roasted malts, dried fruit, some nuts and chocolate. The alcohol is fairly detectable, that’s probably good, even though I like some to be found in the stronger beers. The low levels makes it a dangerously drinkable beer though, but maybe a bit on the sweet side. Overall; definately a beer to drink more of. 100305

On tap @ Omerta, Krakow. Golden body with a white head. Aroma is malt, fresh bread, a bit fruity and hint of spices. Flavor is smoothing malty with a hint of fruit. Not complex but quite decent strong lager, some of these have a tendency to taste alcohol and iron, this one is soft malty.
