Fiddlehead Brewing Company
Microbrewery
in Shelburne,
Vermont,
United States 🇺🇸
Associated Venue: Fiddlehead Brewing Company
Established in 2011
When we first opened in 2011, we did so with a completely manual 15 barrel system and just 30 barrels of capacity. Within the first month Fiddlehead IPA, the flagship ale, was on tap with at over 50 bars and restaurants in Vermont.
With the immediate success, we quickly outgrew the 3,000 sq foot space that was split between retail and production. After the last fermenter was added in 2015, we knew we needed a bigger boat.
In January of 2017, our brand new 10,000 sq foot brewery opened for production just behind the tasting room. The added space meant room for more fermenters as well as some much needed upgrades like a laboratory, grain silo, office space, and our own canning line. This expansion has allowed us to increase distribution of kegs and cans within our home state, branch into New York and Massachusetts, and renovate our tasting room (coming soon!).
While we do not currently offer tours of our production facility, our knowledgeable tasting room staff is always happy to chat about our beers and the brewing process. Our beer can be found on draft or in cans at over 650 Vermont establishments as well as an increasing number of locations around Massachusetts and New York State.
The tasting room remains at the original Shelburne Rd. location, as do countless memories of where it all began.

Can pour into shaker pint glass from Andover Liquors. Appearance is lightly hazy, golden yellow with greenish tinge, nice sparkle, finger-width foamy, off-white head with fair retention and spotty soapy lacing. Aroma is strong pine over milder tropical fruit and citrus, earthy resin. Taste is strong pine, milder citrus and late mango. Palate is medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, average-to-lively carbonation, pleasant alcohol warmth and mix of sweet and bitter finish. Overall, pine dominant with some sweet citrus and tropical fruit to balance the bitter--wouldn't have guessed that many IBU. Good.

On tap at Fiddlehead, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out dank hops, with light resinous oils and biscuity malt. Flavour is super juicy, with citrus hops, lots of dankness and a lightly oily palate. Robust and wonderfully balanced. Excellent.

On draft, pours a fairly clear amber gold with a medium white head. Nose is tropical fruit and stone fruit with a bit of lemon. Flavour is very close to the aroma and strength. Long bitter finish.

On tap at Beer Culture, pours an opaque cloudy peachy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out dank hops, with a little pot and stone fruit pithiness. Flavour is along the same lines, with dank hops, light pot, pithy stone fruits, and a bit of pine. Pithy and dank, with a very nice balance. Great stuff.
