Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a golden yellow with a small white head. Floral hops are prominent in the aroma, with a trace of herbs too. In the mouth it quickly moves from sweet and juicy to dry and hoppy with hints of citrus. Later on the caramel base and some mango come through as welll. Finish is slightly bitter. Reasonable.

Cask at Hops, Crewe Pours a “black cherry” red with a strong lasting cream head and good lacing. Nose is malty, mouth is sweet and fruity with cherries, but rather watery. Finish is nutty with a hint of aniseed. Bland is the word …

Cask at Hops, Crewe Pours a greenish yellow with a small white head and good lacing. Nose is nothing special just some hoppiness. Hops continue into the taste, though there is also some citrus and hints of toffee. Generally rather watery as well. Finish is dry and hoppy. A good beer for swigging, but a bit forgettable.

A almost clear pale gold yellow coloured pour with a tidy white head. Aroma is grassy, lime zest. Earthy base grains,. Flavour is composed of pissy citrus, chalk, straw, mineral. Palate is light chalky, drying, little thin, fine carbonation. Ok.

Cask at Hops, Crewe Nose has liquorice and roast malts. As for the colour, it pours black, black, BLACK ! (see Fast Show) In the mouth it is creamy with strands of liquorice and coffee. The finish has a fruity plummyness which wasn’t present earlier, but the coffee remains as well. Nice and drinkable.
