Established in 2008
Description
This is how it all began: "I brought back a brewing kit from a trip to Canada in 1988. At first, everything was complicated: no raw material, no information ... The beer was undrinkable, but it was intriguing. With the advent of the Internet, I started talking to other amateurs to help me get started. " After a few brews and several months of gestation ... the first craft brewery in Correze was created in June 2008 ... on paper. Then after two or three developments, the brewery opens its doors at the beginning of summer 2009 at La Grange, in Curemonte.
Ten years later, the Brasserie Corrézienne, victim of its success, decided to expand and a new building is under construction, in order to be able to increase from 900 to 1500 hectoliters per year, for a potential close to double to medium term. "We have not been responding to demand for 2 years, a step has been taken!" An adventure to follow ... around a good beer of course!

(330ml bottle from Couleurs de Bières, Montpellier) Gusher. Pours slightly opaque dark orange with a big off white head and lace. Aroma of caramel malt, slight acidic citrus, grain, vague leafy notes, not much. Stale. On the palate, similar with caramel malts, acidic character, leafy, citrus hints, not much to it. Light bitterness and malts on the finish. Must be well past its best. Medium bodied, soft carb. Quite meh, though it is probably better when brand new.

(330ml bottle from Couleurs des Bières, Montpellier) Pours a slighly opaque dark orange with a big whitish head and lace. Aroma of caramel malt, orange, grapefruit, pine resin, a bit bready. On the palate, sweet/bitter with caramel, pine resin, earthy, some orange and grapefruit hops. A little spicy and perfume-ish hop character. Finish moderately bitter, pine/grassy hops, some caramel and bread hints. Medium bodied, soft carb. A little warm (and sandy!) consumed on the beach, but a decent if rather malty IPA.

(On tap @ Couleurs de Bieres, Montpellier, Aug 28 2015) Pours hazy dark amber with a moderate whitish head and lace. Aroma of caramel malts, orange peel, dried pit fruit, pine resin, slight grain. Flavour sweetish, caramel, biscuit, orange peel, pine, peach candy. Finish moderately bitter, pine resin, citrus pith, bread, caramel sweetness mostly dried out. Slight alcohol heat. Medium body, a little slick, soft carb. On the malty side and not that huge for a DIPA but it’s quite drinkable. Good French take on the style.

Bottle @ Drink Rich’s American beer, thanks to KansaiBeerLvrs.
