On tap at Chuck's CD, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma is very weedy, with intense weedy grassiness and a touch of herbal notes — weediest helles I've ever had. Flavour is extremely bitter and weedy — this doesn't taste like a typical helles — with huge pot-like hops, plenty of bitterness, and a soft malt base. Atypical but pretty nice.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out crisp grassiness, light herbaceousness, and crackery malt. Flavour is bright and correctly structured, with crisp grassy hops, fresh herbaceousness, straw and crisp crackery malt. Exactly what I want from a helles — clean, nicely hopped, gently herbaceous. On tap at Bottlecraft in San Diego, pours a clear gold with white head. Classic nose, bready, yeasty, sweet, some melon. Flavor has a little corn, pale grist, bread dough, yeast. Finishes off dry, slick. So well done. 8 4 7 4 14
