Bottle 750ml. @ home.[ Trade by Dedollewaitor ]. Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, nutty, brown sugar - cane sugar, moderate yeasty, english licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091128]

Bottle 330ml. @ home.[ Trade by Dedollewaitor ]. Clear medium to dark black color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate, coffee, dark berry, brown sugar, vanilla notes. Flavor is light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is creamy to oily, carbonation is soft. [20091102]

Black with a tiny tan head. Aroma of licorice, dark chocolate, dried fruits and vineous alcohol. Brilliant complexity, certainly helped by the aging. Much the same notes about the flavour with some port wine, and that cherry note you find in the best aged English imperial stouts and foreign extra stouts. There is just a mild roasted character in the finish with a touch of wood even. Awesome beer!

Very nice aroma, biscuits, bread, a bit floral, light apples. Some chocolate flavor, but the body is rather thin, light residual sweetness; some liquorice.
Nice, European style.

Black color; medium sized beige and creamy head; suspicious fizzy noise. Very good chocolate aroma, spreading in the room, with cookies, some roasted malt and traces of liquorice. It has a rather oily mouthfeel even if the body is not very strong; the dark caramel and chocolate flavor is immediately joined by a strong liquorice flavor; some of the roasted malt bitterness grows towards the finish, the end is also very salty.
It gets better after some breathing in the glass.
Indeed interesting, with some degree of complexity; it could be better with a stronger body.

Bottled. Cloudy orange, brief head. Fruity perfumy nose. Mid-sweet with medium body. Interesting yeastyflavour of dried apricots and seville orange marmelade. Orvallish, but bigger and less spritzy with herbal hops and marked fruitiness. Good late piney bitterness. Lovely complex ale, damn close to fantastic!

Sample at the Eurostash II tasting on 12/12/09: This brew pours a murky brown color with a medium tan head that dissipates steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate malt and dark fruit. Medium, smooth body with flavors of chocolate, malt, raisins and mild spices. The finish is fruity and malty with a lingering rich malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle, 75cl, courtesy of Dedollewaitor. It pours an almost clear, orange-golden body under a small, off-white head. Quite weak on the nose, with raisins and peaches the most evident aromas. Slightly sourish flavor with some caramel. Tropical fruits and sweetness as well. Medium body. Warming finish with fruits and some bitterness. Initially a rather boring and uninteresting, but it soon gets quite interesting. 090822

Hazy brown with a smal off-white head. Vineous dried fruit aroma with nuts, chocolate and cherries. Dry but rich and complex flavour with licorice and figs and a little dark chocolate.
