Bottle: Golden coloured, thin, lasting foamy layer, a bit sticking to the glass; a bit sweetish (pale-)malty and grainy nose with distinctive traces of cardboard; faint bitter-sweet flavour; watery, bready, grainy and sourish finish. Not a great pleasure................

(bottle) Clear and pale golden colour with a diminishing white head. Grainy malty and herbal, slightly skunky aroma. Dry and bitter for a Helles, also quite hoppy. Comes like a Pilsener, unharmonic harsh finish.

Bottle: Dark golden to light amber coloured; thin foamy layer, sticking to the glass; very limited aroma: malts, caramel and honey with a tinge of cardboard; slightly sweetish flavour, maybe a bit sourish, too; a little bitterness in the light grainy finish; not unpleasant, but a bit bland................

Bottle: Almost black with a big, fluffy off-white head, ,quickly diminishing to a small foamy layer; shy malty nose (with an illusion of molasses and roasted malts), sweetish, but mainly dry malty bitter flavour; mild, a bit bitter and a bit fruity finish. Neither unpleasant, nor tasty.......................

(Bottle 50 cl) Pilsener golden with a dense and handsome head. Naturally rather light-bodied, with a flowery hop aroma and a pronounced hoppy finish. 050902

(Bottle 50 cl) Hard to believe, but I actually managed to find a couple of Oettinger recently, that I hadn’t tried before - they really brew just about each and every imaginable German style. Pilsener golden with a small head. Very malty body with a short, bitter finish. Decent but far from spectacular. 210702

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful deep amber with a rich, creamy head. Malty and full-bodied with notes of caramel. Very delicious and very good value for money. 180301

(bottle) Decent and boring cheap Pilsener. Pale golden body with a moderate foamy white head. Slightly herbal hoppy aroma with a malty flavour and taste, dry and bitter finish, not much lasting.
