Description
Situated just off the West coast of Scotland the Isle of Arran is arguably one of the most beautiful and dramatic islands in Europe. The splendour and diversity of the landscape has led it to be considered by many as Scotland in miniature. Nestled between the islands largest mountain, Goatfell, and the imposing Brodick Castle lies Arran Brewery which has been brewing award winning craft beer for over two decades.

Opened in late March 2000. The 20BBL plant originated at the Tipsy Toad Townhouse.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - amber with some head which dissipates fairly quickly. Nose - honeyed malt even caramel. Taste - toffee and biscuit. Caramel on the end. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a finish that is a little too sweet unfortunately. Overall - drinkable initially but a bit cloying after a while.

Bottled (backlog). Orangeish amber colour with a small off-white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is fruity, caramelly, and mildly toffeeish. Also mild wood and grass with a slight acidic touch. Flavour is wood, caramel malts, some toffee, floral hops, mild nuttiness as well as some crystal malts. Alcohol does give a slight sting too.
