(Bottle) Amber beer with a thin foamy head and a spicy aroma. The ginger does come through in the flavour as well but it is, mercifully, rather subtle and more part of a linger backtaste. The main flavour is sharp, tangy fruit and malt. It’s crisp and distinct and while I wouldn’t necessarily rush back for more the ginger does give it an interesting twist.

Bottle from Sainsbury Hamilton cons 2014-07-10 Uddingston AR: ginger and lemon zest - refreshing AP: amber/woody clear, stouthy cream caramel steady head F: heavy ginger (too much), caramel, bitter grapefruit, ... bad combination of flavours make me say: no go!

500ml bottle from Sainsbury’s. Pours clear amber-brown, thin off-white head. Aroma of ginger biscuits, not much else. Taste has more spice, and is sweet. Finishes with a spicy sweet linger. Not my cup of tea.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury’s. Pours a nice chestnut brown with decent head. Aroma is ginger, as is the taste, although it’s a fairly weak, watery taste. Disappointing

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Murrayfield [130813]
Caramel brown amber, clear, off white large frothy head, some lacing
Aroma of spicy lemony fruity ginger up front, some caramel malts in background
Taste of strong lemony ginger - reminded me of washing up liquid, sour tangy, touch of caramel malt underneath, little beer flavour, unbalanced and poor
Palate - Soft carb, light body, sour tangy palate. Finish as main flavour, fairly bitter rather sour finish.
Overall - The taste reminded me of the aroma of those scented washing up liquids. Not very malty either, too much added flavouring - this was a mess tbh. Tipper.
