[ As Arran Milestone Reserve 2011 Arran Whiskey ].Clear golden color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, oxidide, fruity malt, apple, wood, oak. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft - fizzy. [20140315]

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of acetone, green apples. Taste has more acetone, dusty malt. Not a hint of whisky anywhere.

Dull and hazy, slightly yeasty aroma, slightly floral, honeyed notes and a somewhat dull pale malt character.

On cask at the White Lady. Appearance - nearly opaque black with some toffee coloured chinks around the glass. Nose - a little elusive but some molasses. Taste - more molasses plus honeycomb. Then liquorice to the finish. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a pleasant drying finish. Overall - wouldn’t call it a stout but it’s as good aa I’ve had from Arran.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury’s. Pours clear amber-brown, thin off-white head. Aroma of ginger biscuits, not much else. Taste has more spice, and is sweet. Finishes with a spicy sweet linger. Not my cup of tea.

500ml bottle from the Sainsbury. Pours clear gold, nice white head. Light aromas of citrus and spice. Taste has a decent bitterness, but frankly, this is no Racer 5.
