Situated just off the West coast of Scotland the Isle of Arran is arguably one of the most beautiful and dramatic islands in Europe. Nestled between the islands largest mountain, Goatfell, and the imposing Brodick Castle lies Arran Brewery which has been brewing award winning craft beer for over two decades.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. Itβs a clear, amber beer with a cask-sized off-white head. Hops dominates the aroma, with a metallic touch and some caramel. A hint of cellar too. The flavor has a nice bitterness, citrus peel, and some malts. Medium body, pleasant carbonation. The end is mostly bitter, but with a high level of metal, quite annoying. Overall, sure drinkable, but not very interesting, and way too metallic, all the way. 110319

Rating #2400. bottle at JohnM, thanks much for sharing. Hazy amber colour, thin head. Aroma is massive iodium, medicine. Flavour is fairly peaty, strong whisky, little malts. Very bitter, slightly fruity finish. Strange, not very good though. The whisky thing is overdone.

500 ml bottle into tumbler, shared with Brenn79 and Anderson01. Pous deep gold with no head; leaves a collar of big-bubbly white foam. Smells like sweetbread. Taste is sweet and lightly sour with no bitterness. Dry. Carbonation is soft, body is light. How is this a dark beer? I was expecting a black beer. The carbonation goes downhill towards the end. Not very good. I bought it for the cool-looking label. Bad mistake!
