Very dark colour, nearly black; dark greige-brown head, fast dissipating. Very (dark)bready, chocolate & varnish nose. Bread aroma gets more burnt - Maillard? Dry, bitterish taste. Grainy flavours like specific dark grains, roaste barley or oats; slight acidic finish included. Bit smoked too. Mouthfeel bit thinnish, unlike all the grainy flavours would suggest. Good dark bottom-fermenting beer. 'Starkol' is Scandinavian perception. Big thanks to Bjorn & Anders for the Jämtlands choice.

Peachy orange, very slight haze; very carbonated, good, slightly yellowish, head, collapsing. Hoppy, herbal, very faint camphor in the nose. Very hopbitter taste, even bit of bogmyrtle, but not too much for its 5.1 ABV. Very slight biscuity flavour, lurking under all the hops. White grapes retronasal. Very refreshing. Palate is a bit empty - not really surprising for a well-attenuated bottom-fermenting beer. This is an exceptionally enjoyable "lager". I caught myself leasurely drinking away, 'stead of carefully recording flavours and impressions. Good sign - if all "strong lagers" were like this one... Good Hell! - JPP as a lager lout!

The aroma is sweet malty with notes of yeast and aroma hops. The color is a hazy orange and it has a beutiful white head. The flavor is lovely sweet and malty from a good maltblend with notes of grains and yeast. It has a very nice slightly bitter hoppy end that tickles the thogue. A nice pilsener.

The aroma is very malty sweet - from a nice malt blend including caramel malt notes of nuts and yeast mixes in. Great aroma. The color is nut brown and it has a beutiful bubbly beige head. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of nuts and caramel which turns hoppy bitter in the middle just to end on a note of malty dryness coming from roasted and chocolate malt that lingers. A great and very complex flavor.

The aroma is sweet, nutty, and yeasty with notes of chocolate. The color is nut brown and it has a beutiful light brown head. The flavor is fantastic: it is sweet and nutty with notes of bitter chocolate and roasted malt. It finishes on a nice mixed sweet and bitter note with the bitterness lingering for a long time and turning woody dry at last. The bitterness comes more the malt than the hops. The body is a little weak for a beer of 6.5% ABV, but is OK. A great beer - thanks Per.

The aroma is slightly sweet. The color is amber and the head is fantastic. The flavor is sweet with an OK bitterness. A really good beer.

Dark, opaque; beige huge head. Strong aroma, really interesting and persistent: hop first, cardboard, fresh fruitness, pears. Very good body, well balanced, with good roasted malt, at the end quite dry, just missing a stronger (sweeter?) body and some more character for being exceptional. Anyway, one of the best Swedish!

Hazy brown-amber color. Nice hop and malt aroma. The body is poorer, somehow weak, with some roasted malt, correct bitterness at the end but not enough aromatic.

A deep red beer with a light brown head - not black enough for a porter. The aroma is sweet and fruity - a pretty complex aroma. The flavor is very fruity - like a Belgian ale. Which in turn makes it far from a porter. It is slightly flat but with a fine palate. A different experience than all other oatmeal porters or stouts I've had.
