Brunrød. Lukter tørkede frukter; svisker, plommer. honning og litt krydder. God å nippe til. Plommer, kirsebær svisker og honning i smak. Sherry feeling.

Bottle @ home. Clear blood red body with traces of some small bubbles at the edge of the glass. Strong and nice aroma, distinct honey, hint of blueberries, a floral touch, flowers and leaves, slightly herbal with mild alcohol. Taste is medium sweet honey, the blueberries become a bit more distinct, the floral part turns a bit more over to forest, some bitterness and mild, warming alcohol. Fine body with long lasting aftertaste. Nice and complex, lots of interesting flavors and perhaps a bit more challenging for those whose experience from flavored mead to be just fruit and berries. A very nice mead for the more experienced mead enthusiast.

Deep red color with no head. Aroma is blueberries, honey, flowers. Flavor is blueberries, honey, alcohol, berries, flower, wood, spices. Very nice mead.

Bottle, 25cl, #1/2023. It's a still one, headless too of course, although some bubbles form when poured. It's almost crystal clear. deep red in color, reminding me a lot of the juice of European blueberry, only it's less intense, due to dillution. The aroma is super rich and took me by surprise. There's definitely honey and alcohol there, but it's also really flowery, which I guess is due to the rose extract. At first it reminded me of cedar, but it has a more flowery twist. Quite woody, spiced too, but not much berry detected. It's quite light on the palate, sweet and warming, but gentle on both aspects, with a flavor that packs honey, alcohol, a flowery compound that isn't heather and a spiced, woody touch. Might be heather too of course, but the roses are dominating the flowery part. Lasting finish which continues in the same way as the initial flavor, although with a bitterness added. Sort of tannin-ish too. Damn, this was one hell of a mead. I struggle to see this paired with food, but on its own it's superb. Might even work on a warm, sunny afternoon, perhaps with an ice cube. 240216

Copper color with no head. Aroma is figs, dried fruit, spices, caramel. Impressive mead.

Bottle @ home. Clear copper golden body without a head. Slightly oily body. Aroma has smooth, mild honey, some caramel and hint of dry fruit. Taste is quite sweet, but not sticky. Mild but distinct honey, soft caramel, hint of dry fruit and slightly herbal. Pleasant, warming alcohol without any sharp edges. A slightly touch of something acidic makes a nice balance to the sweet honey. Fine, balanced body with long lasting aftertaste. Impressive that something sweet as this still feels so smooth and balanced. A really fine and balanced mead without any distracting flavors.
