Pours hazy golden with no head. Aroma has notes of honey, alcohol and hint of light tart berries. Taste is medium to heavy sweet with a long warm, honey and fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily to sticky with no carbonation

Bottle. It's a lightly hazy one, straw to golden in color, with some white bubbles. The aroma has lots of honey, with a good dash of lemon and some herbal hints. Rhubarb in the back, but I'm not sure I'd recognise it as rhubarb if I didn't know, as it could might as well be gooseberries. It's full-bodied, quite sugary and lightly warming and flat on the palate, with lots of honey and fruityness flavors. Rhubarb, gooseberries, grass notes, some lemony hints and a herbal, flowery touch too. Lasting finish. A very fine mead indeed. A bit on the sweet side, but at least it hides the alcohol well. 221007

Bottle, 20cl. A clear pale candy red one, still, headless and quite oily. The aroma has quite a lot of honey, with flowers too. Subdued berries and some alcohol. It's oily and warming on the palate, quite sweet, with a honey-driven flavor. Some dark berries, hints of flowers and vanilla too. Lasting finish. A decent mead, very gentle on the blackcurrant, but it works just fine. 220806
