Description
Spookton started life as a result of an obsession for homebrewing modern craft beer. We launched in 2022 as a cuckoo brewery and we’re taking our next big step in early 2024 by opening our own microbrewery and tap room in the centre of Chester.

Keg draught at the brewery tap. Light gold, a tiny bit of haze, a thin layer of white head. Light fruity aroma, a bit grassy, lemon meringue. Fresh sweet taste, more lemon, some sweet spice. This is hard for me to get a handle on but I really like it. The finish is bitter, with medium hody and carbonation on the heavy side. Good.

Keg at the brewery tap. Dark brown, a little bit translucent with a swirl of buff head. Roast malt on the nose, some Ash, a little smoke and maybe some bramble hiding away there. Sweet taste at first, malty and lightly fruity with an ashen bitterness in the finish. Body is extremely light with medium tickly carbonation. Decent for sure.

Chuck Norris' death was announced earlier on this drinking day, I'm sure he did many a Kickflip. Minimal hazy tropical fruit and pine brew, which has plenty of taste, plenty of aroma. A pale golden coloured brew with body, but an easy-drinking texture.

It took me a 450 degrees walk around this hard to find Brewery before I was really here, drinking this near black, sticky-sweet chocolate and cream flavoured stout akin to biscuits, evident in both aroma and taste, and it lingers.

Looking for a Frank the dog in all the dog mugshots for this bar whilst drinking this weaker tasting clear reddish-brown stout. There's a bit of grittiness, sweetness and roasted here though.

On my first trip to Berlin a friend asked me to bring him back an East German flag. I can flag this Kveik as a mildly fruity, but always sessionable keg pour. Light glowing golden in colour, it has quite a soft texture.
