473ml can. Opalescent, redd-ish, dark copper colour with small to average, fluffy, slowly osteoporosing, moderately lacing, beige head. Mellow, nutty, toasty, dark and caramel malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, praline, hazelnut, nougat. Taste is toasty, nutty, dark and caramel malty, mildly bitter hoppy, hints of caramel, malt lozenge, praline, nougat, hazelnut, a touch of honey.
Minimally creamy, dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Clean, balanced, maybe a tad too dry - very nice.

16 oz can. Served in my footed Pilsner glass.
Color is a dark caramel bordering on deep brown. Not black.
Aroma is toasted malts showing light earthy hints and mild bread. Flavor follows with a balance of toasted malt and a soft mineral content.
Medium plus body. Very enjoyable German Dunkle.

Pours dark, clear mahogany into a Sam glass. White head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Brown bread, root beer and nut aromas. Spritzy with with sweet raisin brown bread and molasses upfront turning to earthy licorice, root beer and birch beer in the medium length finish.

Panda thanks to Wingman. Just a light haze on this gold beer, small bubbly off white head. Light palate, decent fine carbonation emerging late on. Light light pale malts, a nice light sweetness. Hops bring light pine, a mild bitterness and a little hop spice. Light but bright hop fruits. Pineapple, a little citrus, touch of stone fruits. Light finish. Refreshingly clean and light on yeast.

On tap at the River road tavern
Light haxy electric gold color with a frothy white head that persists. Earthy citrus and grassy against a sweet bready maltiness. A bit of diacetyl is a bit distracting.

Nose is stone fruit, guava, pine resin, gooseberries.
Taste comprises ripe tropicana, white grape, grass, mandarin, pine resin.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy come resinous NZ fuelled hop bitterness.
Solid kit ... I usually find the NZ hop presence in US brewed beer is pretty weak compared to UK brewed ... maybe a freshness issue but not in all cases. This one was right up there tho!
