The Kauri Brewery is located in a town in the southern tip of Finistère, Plovan. In their charming hamlet, from where you can see the sea in the distance, Line and Fabien make artisanal, organic and committed beers. The raw materials are carefully selected, locally and sustainably.
We brew pale and dark ales, saisons and wild fermented beers on our farmstead in South Brittany, experimenting with produce from our land and foraged locally.
We replanted fruit trees and shrubs where there once was an orchard dating back to the late 1800’s, and where some of the initial trees remain like wild sour cherry trees, poplar, elder, sloes, spindles, tamarix and willows.
Along the way we are very fortunate to have met and worked with passionate and genuine people who inspire us: farmers, winemakers, chefs, bakers, brewers, and look forward to many more encounters and collaborations.
We are driven by taste, simplicity, generosity and humility and hope that everything produced here reflects these values.
44cl Blik van Cave de Kergoat. Troebelgele kleur, witte kraag. Tropisch fruit, vanille, bubblegum, vleugje perzik, smaak is iets wateriger dan de prima geur, hint van gist, fruitig, lichtbittere finish. Lichte body.
Now titled as 'Session IPA'. 440ml can from L'Ecume des Bieres in Saint-Malo. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a white head. Aromas & tastes of zingy melon, pineapple & hops. Moderate body. Smooth light bitter finish.
440ml can from Cidrerie Kerné. Pours a hazed yellow, not much of a lasting head, though a modest carbonation is there. Good saison nose, sweet, not too spicy. My kind of sweetness, hints of banana and a little bubblegum though could do with a bit more of a spicy bite.. still, like it
