Cask at Great Western, Wolverhampton. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a medium sized foamy cream head and good lacing. Roast malts are the mainstay of the aroma along with hints of chocolate and toffee. In the mouth roast malts are again prominent along with treacle, liquorice and traces of coffee grounds. After a while some bitter tar comes through. Finish is dry and bitter – though not excessively so. This is excellent ! (almost as good as the mild)

Spotty beige head on a clear copper coloured body. Fruity, English hops & caramel aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a sharp back. Malt, toffee, sweet, English hops & stone fruit tastes with a bitter tangy finish. Such a English tasting Bitter.

Cask @ Great Western, Wolverhampton before watching Derren Brown. Clear golden amber pour, off-white head. Quite a malty fruity number, light bodied, dry bitterness. Ok.

Cask @ Great Western, Wolverhampton before seeing Derren Brown. Clear amber, off-white head. Fine malty fruity leanings, mild maltloaf. Light bodied. An honest fruity bitter I suppose, but in the grand scheme of things poor and sub-standard as a beer.
