Handpull cask at the West End Brewery, Leicester. Golden and clear with an uneven film of white head. Light aroma of malt and fresh grass with a touch of banana. Bittersweet taste with a well-judged balance. Fairly simple but it works. Nagham liked it and so did I.

Handpull cask at the West End Brewery, Leicester. Golden, clear. Some uneven white head. Smells of orchard fruit with toasty malt notes. Sweet taste leaning toward a hippy bitter note toward the finish. Caramel, pear drops, agave syrup in the finish. Excellent for the style.

Cask @ Bole Bridge, Tamworth. Golden with a small head. Session ale that’s not too stated in its style, but pleasant enough.

Cask @ Square Bottle JDW, Chester [070417]
Blonde, clear, dense white head, good lacing
Aroma - well there wasn’t anything - nothing bad
Taste of light pale malt, some soft lemon citrus hops, soft bitter zest, simple gear
Palate - Medium body, little oily, fairly bitter. Finish does have more bitter zest
Overall - SIiple stuff - at least it does what it says on the tin
