500ml swing top bottle. Yellowy golden colour, white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of grain, fruity funk, grassy. Taste is malt & grains, barnyard funk, citric rind, grapey fruit, with grassy metallic bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry funky grassy bitter finish. Nicely drinkable

18/7/2020. Sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear golden orange with a bubbly white head. Aroma of pink grapefruit, orange, citrus, grass. Medium sweetness and light bitterness/tartness. Moderate body, average carbonation. Nice and fruity drop.

Slightly hazy pale gold with a foamy white head, and a mellow citrus and malt aroma. Beautiful mouthfeel, with decent bitterness alongside a nice citrus and soft fleshy fruit taste, and a long bitter finish with some biscuit malt in the aftertaste.

I drank this beer in April. I rated it in April. My rating doesn't exist anymore, if it ever did. This may be my fault but given that Ratebeer is unable to reliably fulfill it's most basic function of rating a beer, I am pretty fucking sure it's Ratebeers fault. Thanks again for the vast improvements made to this site over the last few years, it really enthuses one to carry on using it. From memory it was a good Pilser come Saison, dry and fairly spciy. I recall that maple and chardonnay elements were only quite light and I think could have been bolder. It was decent but not a patch on #2, which was a delight. This memory rate is brought to you courtesy of Ratebeer, perhaps it should be called Ratebeerfrommemory!

Almost clear gold beer, decent pale cream colour head. Fluffy palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation but not as crispy as you might expect. Light malts bring a light sweetness. Good white wine brightness with a little champagne bite. Nice! Some light citric fruits coming through on the back end. The maple is not at all obvious but seems to be doing enough to round off the potential champagne yeast bitterness. Very drinkable. Reminds me of those heady days when we would quaff lager all night and then finish off by topping off the pints with champagne. But this tastes much better than that!

Gushy fucker bottle, light haze on this gold beer, big pale cream colour head. Airy palate, fairly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Fluffy malts, some mild to medium sweetness. A flinty bitterness comes through on the finish as does some watery hop. Quite quaffable but just the constant low level nag that all is not quite as it should be be with this gushy lager.

Bottle ordered from the brewery. Aroma combines sweet maple with a fruity sour edge. Unlike #2 the maple when it comes to the maple, makes me think of yoghurt. Slightly cloudy copper gold. Middling creamy white head. Initial medium-heavy sour. Fruity and vinous. Hints of sweetness. It's only now that I'm halfway through the bottle that it occurs to me that there is a low key oaty creaminess through the finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-soft carbonation. Long astringent finish with some dryness. It must be taking on facets from the sour Saison. After the dose of maple in the stoma it's surprisingly peripheral in the taste. Enjoyable fruity sour.

Bottle ordered from the brewery. Funky aroma with a vinous edge. Honey sweetness then comes through. Copper gold. Slightly hazy. It's lively - big bubbly head settles down to creamy foam. Light-medium bitter, with spice to it. Develops a vinous sour edge, which is dry. Underlying sweetness from the maple is more evident into the finish. Light bodied. Thin if slick. Benefits from soft carbonation. Dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice enough but I think I preferred the original - sometimes simpler is best. Possibly because the maple adds the sweetness I'd associate with a lager and which was not included with the original.

Bottle ordered from the brewery. Malty vinous aroma. Hazy gold. Thick foamy white head. Light sour. Vinous. Some fruity sweetness in there. Underlying earthy bitterness. Light bodied. Thin if slick. Fizzy. Dry finish. Lovely stuff. And this is just the base beer.
