Bottle courtesy of piscator34: Poured a deep burgundy color ale with a small foamy head with average retention. Aroma of strange spices with some roasted malt. Taste is best described as a spiced English porter/winter warmer with a medium bitter finish. I honestly have a hard time identifying the mix of spices included here but would say that it was quite enjoyable. Body is about average with medium to low carbonation. Interesting beer is doesn’t even start to describe this.

Bottled (BB 10/2007). Opaque black, small creamy tan head. Strong aroma of milk chocolate and coffee in the nose. Flavor is dominated by cold coffee and tobacco with notes of milk chocolate. Not sweet than some other "chocolate stouts". Quite watery but suprisingly tasty for being only 4.0%. Short toasted aftertaste.

Poured a clear copper gold color with almost no white head. Looked a bit like apple juice. Smells of malt, slightly nutty with a hint of alcohol. Flat flavor, very grainy and only slightly malty. Not very bitter, finish is watery. This is the kind of flat, dingy beer an old man drinks on Saturday afternoon. Far from disgusting, but certainly not delicious.

Clean amber color; nice creamy head. Aroma of malt and hay. Quite round mouthfeel, even if the beer is not too thick; good thin malt taste, with caramel, on the sweet side, with a light unpleasant metallic touch in the beginning; the final is well balanced, with a very light fruitness to join the malt and bitterness. Overall, quite good and well brewed; subtle.

Light amber color. Aroma of malt and cardboard. Good body structure, based on the pale malt with some caramel, some residual sweetness, balanced bitterness, hop of fairly good quality. Quite good.

Brown color with ruby shades. Malty and caramel aroma, with a quite sharp herbal character (heather, myrth, fresh ginger?). Good body structure, very original flavor, mixing the malt, caramel, demerara sugar, herbs, fresh ginger, pine needles… Quite strong bitterness, based on the caramel/roasted malt.

Black color. Delicate coffeish aroma and taste, both milky, but a bit metallic at the end. The mouthfee is not thick, yet there is some malt presence. The final is quite simple.

Bottle, 5.3%. Slightly spicy aroma, some sewer. Clear dark chestnut colour. Acidic flavour, but nicely malty. Roasted aftertaste.
