Bottle from Vine & Bine, near Solihull. Pours a clear reddish-brown with a thin beige top. Aroma of bourbon is very evident with a malty character, somewhere between toffee and treacle with some chocolate. Its somewhat sweet and sour to begin with the bourbon coming through, then opens up to plum, raisin, liquorice, treacle. Boozy finish with a tartness. Mid bodied but a bit on the light side for a 9% beer, average carbonation. Interesting flavours although slightly off balance. Its one of those that grows on you though.

330ml bottle. Hazed dark ruby brown, off-white head. Aroma of dark malt, mild coffee. Taste presents an interesting blend of dark toffee, dark malt, perhaps a hint of coffee and leather with dark swirls of what seems like vodka or whisky on the finish.. seems very much a brummie / black county style dark ale. Good strength. Ok overall.
