Description
A small family run brewery in the heart of South Yorkshire with the core aim of creating quality ales. We use no added sugar, all our ales are purely brewed with the finest ingredients. We have zero waste with all our left over malts and hops going to the local cows! Our first ever brew that has remained our most popular beer is New York Pale that was brewed to celebrate the New York Stadium Beer Festival. We actually sold out of all our beer in record time! We have several core beers with specials being brewed regularly to satisfy all tastes. Our core ales have accumulated some fantastic awards with our infamous Two Magpies Porter winning the Champion Beer of Beers 2018. In 2020 we also expanded to brewing a Helles and a Pilsner style lager.

Bottle picked up at the Chantry. Clear pale-ish gold. Solid white head. Light stewed nettle like hop leaf. Cereal. Some biscuity sweetness before a decent heft of leafy bitterness. Pretty smooth with depth of flavour. More leafy bitterness to finish. Tasty gear no doubt.

Handpull cask at Heaven & Ale, Barnsley. Mid- to dark gold, almost a slight reddish hue with a film of off-white head. Light stone fruit aroma, some grain and dried grass. Sweet taste, pear drops and peaches with a balancing astringency. Bitterness in the finish which spreads throughout the mouth. Full oily body, low to no carbonation. Pretty good if understated.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - thanks Graham!]. Clear, darkest ruby colour with average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lasting, beige head. Sweet-ish, fruity, malty aroma, notes of dark fruit, plum, red and blue berries, dried dark fruit. Taste is bitter, roasty, dark malty, fruity and slightly peppery, yeasty spicy, hints of dark fruit, dried dark fruit; lingering, bitter hoppy and peppery finish. Creamy-watery texture, smooth and soft palate, very fine, prickly carbonation. Nice fruity flavours, relatively light, not overly complex - enjoyable.

Cask. Chantry Inn Handsworth Sheffield. Crystal clear pale gold. Tight white head. Yeasty and green. Tart and leafy bitter. This feels like it’s not been properly conditioned really. Struggled to finish the pint tbh.
