Cask, half at the Blue Blazer. Unclear, late straw coloured body. Dotted spots to the glassware. Tiny white head. Floral nose, fruity hints. Flavour profile of leafy hops mixed with caramel malts. Fresh fruit bitter end. Oily palate. On par with the style, more or less (pub crawl in Edinburgh 09.08.2013).

On cask at George and Dragon, Wentworth - A nice clear yellow brew, solid lacing white head. Nose of grapefruit, but kind of sweet at the same time, with a citric hoppiness coming through Taste is moderately dry, bit of carbonation tickling the hoppy flavour through. Good lasting bitter finish. Very good brew this one.

Bottle shared at the ChrisO Flags of Many Nations Easter Tasting 2013 - London. I wonder if this brewery is trying to capitalize on new wave beer drinkers and the popularity of all things ’imperial’. For this brewery, everything they make is imperial! Clever. Anyway, this beer pours dark brown with a tight, tan foam head. Looks great. Light tangy chocolate aroma with hints of roasted malts and well-toasted bread. Medium sweet flavor with some coffee, earth, light tang and burnt beef. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Some tangy dark malts to finish, light chocolate, earth. Meh. It does look imperial, at least.

Bottle at Chriso Easter "Flags of many nations" Tasting, 31/03/13 thanks to Chris for this one. Extremely dark mahogony brown with a thin beige head. Nose is roast malt, light spice, hint of coffee, dark chocolate. Taste comprises dark toffee, liqourice, molasses, roast malt, hint of coffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry in the finish. Ok stuff - Imperial Stout it is but not an Imperial Stout - yeah?

Tasting at ChrisO’s. Opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Lights softish palate, semi dry. The dark malt is light and tangy. Finishes semi dry. It’s all right but is no way, shape or form an Imperial Stout.
