Description
Shiny was established in 2012, as a small scale operation, brewing in Derby mainly for its brew pub. Now based in the beautiful village of Little Eaton, just outside of Derby. The brewery is based in the centre of the village and has a taproom which features all Shiny’s new beers and one off pilots. Our beer story began with untraditional highly hopped cask beer and now has evolved into brewing a range of cask, keg and cans, the ethos is still the same brew beers we love to drink which means lots of hops! All beers are unfined and a good number of our core range is certified Gluten Free.

Cask ale shared with Finn at Wellington. Lasting white head over a clear golden body. Moderate lacing. Perfumed lime on the nose. Taste of lime added by ginger. Slightly diluted in the mouth. So and so. About drinkable (Birmingham 21.09.2016).

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has modest carbonation. Light malts, mildly sweet. Ripe citrus. Some orange peel. Light finish. After several well hopped US cask ales, this seems staid.

Bottle from Beer Metropolis, Shiny Shop/Tap & Brewery, Little Eaton, Derbyshire consumed at home making Untraditional Shepherds Pies, Sunday 11th September 2016 Pours gold with the merest of haze, a tidy white head completes the look. A little dusty hoppiness at first, it picks up to reveal some grassy hop and a bit of citrus. Soft mouthfeel, streaky lemony citrus. Another solid effort from Shiny. A6 A4 T7 P3 OV13 3.3

On tap from Beer Metropolis, Shiny Shop/Tap & Brewery,, Derbyshire, Saturday 10th September 2016 in the company of Dad and Pauline. Warm gold actually on second thoughts it’s more light amber in colour with a white head. A strange combination of citrus and a light but ever present chewy caramelness are the standout flavours. Fruity with a reasonable crisp bite, very popular beer both here and at The Furnace I noted, I had two of these, it’s pretty good. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Bottle from Beer Metropolis, Shiny Shop/Tap & Brewery,, Derbyshire, Saturday 10th September 2016 in the company of Dad and Pauline. Hazy warm gold perhaps even orangey, there is a good clarity to this with a white creamy head. Lots of coriander (seeds) but soft, spicy edge. Enjoyable beer, really drinkable beer. Like this.
