Description
Duncan Sambrook founded Sambrook’s Brewery in 2008 when there were just five breweries operating in London. With his vision of bringing brewing back into the heart of London, Duncan pulled ex-brewer David Welsh out of retirement and back into his dungarees and wellies. To

Since 2008 we have been brewing beer in Battersea, but after 12 years on our current site we have decided to relocate a mile up the road to Wandsworth Town. Later in 2020 we will be brewing beer on the site of the Ram Brewery where we will launch our new tap room and visitor centre.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Lightly hazy amber beer with a small pale cream coloured head. Smooth palate. Mild dried fruits. Smooth malts. A bit shallow. Lacks the malty depth and maturity of a good barleywine.

Bottle thanks to Kenneth. It pours deep ruby with a small white head. The nose is wood, earth, light spice, honey and dried fruits. The taste is woody, earth, toffee, oily, toffee, prune, raisin, date, honey and some alcohol warmth. Full body, fine prickly carbonation and oily mouth-feel. No real depth unfortunately, but it is pretty drinkable.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - massive thanks to Kenny for yet another rare local beer. Pours clear copper-ruby with a fine, creamy white head. The aroma has dry wood, dry berries, some pine. Big sweet flavor, ripe orange, bread, some leaves. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with heavy bread, caramel, mild leafy bitterness, candied apples. Pretty rich and pretty tasty if not especially complex.

500 ml bottle. Clear golden body with a fast disappearing white head. Aroma is mild malt with hint of fruit. Flavor is also mild, sweet, quite smooth malt, kind of fruity and moderate bitterness. Medium body and medium aftertaste, a bit more bitterness maybe. Quite plain and straight forward bitter.

Bottle. A clear golden beer with a small off-white head. Quite boring aroma and flavor, not much going on, neither hops nor malts. Fruityness and some biscuits. Medium body, quite dry. Pretty bitter towards the end. I’m still surprised too see all these boring beers churned out from the English breweries. 131019

Bottle. A clear, pale amber beer with a small off-white head. Caramel, towards toffee, some hoppy notes. Utterly boring, both aroma and flavor. Peachy hints in the flavor, some bitterness towards the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Nothing interesting going on here. 131019
