Keg at the Head Of Steam, Durham, 14/05/2025.
Raspberry red with a crimson cap that retains well.
Nose is tangy berries, herb, sugars, lactic tang.
Taste comprises berry pips, vanilla, rhubarb stalk, herb, straw.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light puckering edge.
Fun enough ... not sure its much of a pale ale mind!

Cask at the Micro Bus, Gateshead, 14/05/2025.
Murky chestnut brown topped with a beige cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is stewed fruits, toffee, figs, light sweet tones.
Taste comprises fruit loaf, caramel, perfume, biscuit, dates, prunes.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close.
Decent enough flavoursome mild but I expected a little more ... perhaps past its best condition wise.

Deadication beer to 17th Century Samurai Katakura Kagenaga, who took the call to save the Date Clan from falling into a void, he was born on this day. Guest beer at the Fell Northern Quarter bar. Steady porter, pretty good, decent head and taste to match, which is mildly roasted. Aroma nice.

Nice delicate, velvety and very drinkable. Aroma and taste faint, tropical fruit salad with note of nectarine. Disappointing as for hop study beer.
