500ml bottle, gift from a friend, BB Oct 21. Pours a see through coca cola look with next to no head. Aromas & tastes of dried fruits, burnt ash & malt. Moderate body. Sweet finish. Very poor effort I'm afraid to say, hard to finish & I've a second bottle to get through at some point.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] This looks more like a fruit beer than a stout, with a dark purple colour and a tight beige head; the aroma has chocolate powder and and cranberry; in the mouth it has a watery cranberry and malt taste; with a dusting of cocoa powder to finish. Odd.

Cask at the Spoons in Waterloo. Aroma is malty, grainy.... at a stretch. Opaque brown. Foamy translucent white head. Light bitter with a big malty streak. Slightly sour herbal edge. Earthy. Light. Thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Drinkable if bland.

Cask at the new Spoons, Waterloo. A dull gold. No head. Aroma is malty, citrusy, low key. Flavourwise we have a metallic and grainy streak with a yeast edge. Some malts. Some citrus. Thin. Light. Lazy fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. Boring.

Pours a clear gold, small white head, moderate retention. A floral, citrus and grapefruit aroma - decent punchiness. Taste again quite floral with a leafy bitterness but does have some sweet citrus, grapefruit and malt. Medium bodied, slightly dry. Decent.

Cask at Soloman Cutler, Spoons, Birmingham. Clear gold with smooth as you like white top, great lacing. This one has a malty backbone with a touch of biscuit. Up front is an odd syrup like citrus, bitter boiled vegetables and spice. Smooth body, drying. Interesting.

Bottle from LCB. Clear gold with light white bubbly foam. A fairly standard biscuit like malt with citrus aroma. Taste again has a biscuit and tangy citrus note but there is a floral bitter hop presence in the finish which gives a nice crispness. Light bodied but has a slickness to it. Its ok.

[33cl can from Lowcostbeer.com] A murky straw coloured pour with a billowing white head; grainy aroma; lemony citrus taste; then nothing more.
