Tap at Beer DeLuxe, Federation Square, Melbourne. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, alcohol, liqourice. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter with a big rich, roasted malt, liqourice, alcoholic, hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. It was all liquorice and alcohol. Remember the black liquorice Allsort, the one that everyone left til last? It was a big reminder of that long forgotten, rather unpleasant time from my childhood.

Tap at Beer DeLuxe, Federation Square, Melbourne. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light, dry grainy cardboard malt, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Brewed only for the Victorian market? I don’t foresee riots in the rest of the world over that decision.

(Bottle) Pours clear amber brown with small short-lived loose white head. Nice aroma - pine and citrus with hints of biscuit. Medium body, medium carbonation. Taste starts of rich with dark toffee malts and dried fruit. It thins out a bit mid-palate and then a decent amount of bitterness kicks in for the finish. Different, and pleasant enough.
