Bottle pour. Appearance is opaque black with finger-width beige head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt with chocolate. Taste is strong earthy roasted malt with hints of chocolate. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a good representative of the style.

Pours clear, dark gold into a tulip. White head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Brown bread, raisin and meadow aromas. Soft with hot caramel, earthy multi-grain sourdough and overripe banana peel upfront that lasts through the unattractive lasting finish.
