From a 440ml can on 31/8/2020. Pours a deep deep brown with a medium head. Has a super powerful choc orange nose, which is repeated in the flavour. Just think of a Jaffa in a beer. There's a firmish dark choc and roasty bitterness at the back that balances things quite nicely. The mouthfeel is syrupy, the carbonation moderate. Intense and pretty successful, but there's something just a touch artificial about it that detracts from the final experience, making it good rather than great.

440ml can. Deep brown. Big choc orange nose. It's a Jaffa. Sufficiently dark, dry chocolate to not be sickly sweet. The vanilla and caramel notes round it out nicely. Fun stuff.

I am bowled over by the fact that they can produce a beer this good for $55 a slab. My rating is on the curve - for an affordable pale ale, there is literally nothing else within a thousand miles of it. Theres a great tropical hit of pineapple and guava, plus a little mango and grapefruit. There's a reasonable malt backbone to support it. This is my new go-to stock beer. I don't like when my supply gets low, and I'm worried it won't last long. Seems to only be available at Dan Murphy.

Can. Amber. Very much marmalade and pine needles, and very nicely balanced. Subtler than I expected. Almost dangerous.

Can, cold but not quite the 4C (inconsistency there?) recommended. Almost opaque dull gold with a large fluffy white head. Aroma of grapefruit, lemon drops, mango puree, cracker dough, overt alcohol. Just medium bodied. Sweetish at first but the bitterness and alcohol dries things out quite quickly. This strong, the wheat and oats and whatever the yeast choice was to make it NEIPAish doesn't really make any difference to the texture of the beer. And it's hoppy and boozy without obvious problems but to no obvious purpose.

From a 375ml can on 27/7/2020. Pours a hazy medium golden with a big fluffy head. The nose is light, slightly sharp and fruity. Tastes quite sweet up front with lots of tropical and citrus fruit (pineapple, mango and orange) followed by a sharp, slightly spicy bitterness, with a bit of hop burn at he back. Pretty boozy and the 10.5% doesn't surprise. The mouthfeel is a bit syrupy, the carbonation moderate. Okay but there are better big hazies out there.

Can from Parkhill Cellars (North Melbourne). An intriguing concept all round this. Shows that if you crank up the sugars, alcohol etc, basically a triple NEIPA tastes like a TRIPA... a really, really tasty one.

Can. 7C - not as cold as recommended but come on. Deep gold with a slight haze, large white head that lasts OK. 3+ Bold aroma of citrus - grapefruit, kumquat - and tropical fruit - mango, pineapple, passionfruit - light bread. This cold it's not that sweet; the fruit and then a little menthol, pine and spice pop out at the fairly bitter and slightly fumy end. As subtle as three dogs but roaringly good.
