(Can) Black with a small tan head. Lovely rich complex aroma. Full bodied with lovely soft carbonation giving a great mouthfeel. Excellent complex rich taste too. The richness is well balanced with bitter and somewhat tart notes towards the finish. There’s dark roast grain and dark toffee, notes of coffee and wood. The booze is very apparent with a nice warm burn. Excellent.

From a 440ml can on 2/6/2026. Pours a deepest brown with a smallish tan head that disappears quickly. There's lots of whisky on the nose, with some dark chocolate, caramel and dried fruit. Tastes of caramel, toffee and chocolate with lots of dried and dark fruit. Finishes with a firmish bitterness with just a touch of roastiness and a big dollop of whisky booze. Has a syrupy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. A truly wonderful, complex, big winter sipper.

Can, bb 9/26. Getting down to the last of the discount Advent box. Hazy dull orange with a cm of white head. Lively passionfruit and orange aroma with some crackers. A real sugary blast upon a swig but it's not just sweet - there's tart passionfruit, citrus and decent bitterness. Liked this more than expected. Cleverly balanced.

440ml can from a Mosman liquor store. Poured a mostly clear, almost black colour with a thin off white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is roasty, light sherbet. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, somewhat rich, roasty, dry, light herbal aromatic, light ashtray, light liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Can. Almost clear pale amber w a dense 3/2cm white head that lasts pretty well. Aroma of pink grapefruit, warm spices, honeydew melon, buns. Just short of heavy with some amber sweetness under lots of spices and some citrus and melon. Long bitter finish. Some warmth but no overt alcohol. They do a good big pale ale and this is another.

(Can) Pours black with small tan head. Excellent aroma - oak, bourbon, notes of toffee. Full bodied, smooth, slightly sticky, modest very fine carbonation. Great taste. Alcohol is apparent through the palate a pleasant toffee sweetness at the start and through the mid palate. Bourbon, oak, dried fruit, cherries provide a little tartness. Nice burnt bitter notes in finish. Very good, rather boozy.
