Description
Oakshire is a is a community inspired small batch brewing company privately owned by the family and friends of our company’s founders. Oakshire operates a small, 4,000 square-foot production brewery in Northwest Eugene, as well as the Oakshire Public House in Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood and the Oakshire Beer Hall in the Concordia/Cully neighborhood in Northeast Portland.

Eugene was chosen as Oakshire’s location in part due to the accessibility of clean, soft water from the McKenzie River. Since 2013, Oakshire Brewing has partnered with our local land conservation group, the McKenzie River Trust. One percent of Watershed IPA sales revenue is set aside for the protection of local watersheds in the territories where the beer is sold, helping to preserve the clean water that is so vital to our community and our beer.

Dark brown, rich chocolate nose with subtle espresso character. Rich mocha character with a great three-way balance between chocolate, coffee and earthy bittering hop. Medium body for this type of beer despite the sweetness. Quite an accomplished example.

Dark yellow and bright. Aroma is slightly piney with indistinct citrus. Lean malts, rich piney hops. Biscuity, then finishes with a lingering bitterness that leaves resin on the tongue.

22Oz Bottle at Bier:Thirty, Boise as part of their Oskar Blues tap takeover. Hazy apricot pour with a thin ring. Fruity sweet malt aroma. LIght bodied and lacking real big hop flavor. Not much fresh hop flavor. Just OK. Was expecting a bit more from Oakshire

4oz pour at Jack Rose DC. Pours a translucent, mahogany amber with some creamy, off white head. Nose is interesting, coconut, vanilla, some rum raisin ice cream, malt, caramel, a little booze but not over powering. Flavors are nice, mostly vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, rootbeer, coffee, brown bread, some candy, some milk chocolate. Oily finish. Fairly well blended but still a bit hot.

4oz pour at Jack Rose DC. Pours a hazy, mahogany amber with some sudsy, white head. Nose is interesting, plum, cherry, vanilla, some barrel, some red grape, dried raisin. Flavor has a lot of cherry, a little jammy, some bread crust, a bit of booze, more like cheap wine than grain alcohol. Tart, oily finish. Unique.
