Draught at the brewery, 11/26/23. Clear, bright golden-blonde. Small spotty, white head. Some light juice, lots of nectarine and doughy malt. Wood, vegetal. White read, light pine, resin. Soft, chewy, malty, thick, some pine resin, some stone fruit, quite bitter. Good malt texture but I just can't get behind the resiny, woody, piney hops.

Tap @ Bayberry Beer Hall. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are malt, hops and has a sweet malty finish.

500 ml Bottle shared by ClarkVV. Aroma seems like Heaven Hill. Slightly spicy with vanilla, toffee, wheat. The flavor follows with a great viscous texture. Lightly spicy finish. Nice Impy stout!

Thanks Clark, aroma is bourbon, dark chocolate. Roasty, balanced, nice mouthfeel. Solid beer.

Can, from the brewery (backlog from 2021). Pours extremely hazy lemon yellow with a foamy whitish head, very faint citrus aroma, low carbonation, mildly bitter citrusy taste with faint unripe mango-coriander flavor, smooth body, long finish. A bit sweet but nice.

Bottle at the brewery, 2/4/23. Medium amber, good clarity. Small, beige head. Fruity with lots of vanilla. Classic caramel-toffee-vanilla. Not as much of the barrel aging comes through here but you do get less sugar as a result I'd assume. Soft and malty, not syrupy or overly viscous. Good richness but good attenuation. Juicy almost, lots of fruit, toffee, vanilla. Clean, not boozey.

Brewery draught, 2/4/23. Dark. Small, tan head. Very nice bourbon, spicy and rich without sharpness or coconut. Malts are seemingly well attenuated, with dark chocolate and mild coffee rosst-like character prominent. No booze, lots of vanilla. Soft, malty, well-attenuated. Bourbon is rich and spicy. Just a no frills, bourbon impy w classic chocolate, vanilla, roast profile. Not syrupy, not all that viscous really. Gets more rich and silky with warming. Great balance, no booze.

Draught at the brewery, 2/4/23. Served in a small, plastic cup with a sugar and cookie rim, just as it should be. Dark, no head. Not too sweet in the nose, though of course it's full of sweet notes. Raisin, fudge, oatmeal cookie, prune, vanilla. No booze, impressively. Soft, malty, but you can tell there was a very strong effort to make sure this thing isn't syrupy/sugary/cloying. Lots of cookie like character, sort of pastry-like I guess. Dark chocolate, prune, raisin, fig sort of thing. Low carbonation. Alcohol dryness on the end but no sharpness. Fine for a pastry stout but nothing too compelling for me here.

Lukr pour at the brewery 2/4/23. Clear, rich amber, large, off-white head, well-retained. Light base malt, light toast, low hops, low mineral/yeast character. Just a solidly-base-malted lager showing honey, graham cracker and toasted bread. Clean, no alcohol. Soft, very malty, low hops but a touch of herb. Honey, caramel, toast from the malt. Good minerality, very clean. Despite the double decoction, it's not too malty, or more than you'd want it to be. But is still soft and flavorful for its size.

750 mL 4 Seasons bottle, undated, drunk 1/28/23. Clear, brassy-peach. Large, off-white head fades quickly. Uh oh. Medicinal notes drown out the peach. And not good medicinal. Sharp, heavy plastic, moderate acetone. A shame as the peach is peppery, lush and juicy. Similar problematic flavors. This is similar to their last heavily infected sour. They really need to retire whatever barrel is doing this....
