(Tap) hazy, bright yellow amber color with a small white head; aroma of pine; intensely bitter flavor with a long, very bitter finish - once again I’m not sure if the server is mixing orders orders or thus is an off batch - but this supposedly ‘pale ale’ is significantly more bitter than the IPAs served in previous flight. Either is not confidence inspiring.

Draft at the brewery - listed as 12.24% abv - black pour with a frothy, off-white lace - nose is chocolate, roast, and whiskey - creamy texture, fairly sweet, but not overly so for the style - a light bit of smoke, cocoa, dark fruit, whiskey, light tannic character, black cherry - lingering chocolate and roast in the finish - pretty good, actually.

10 ounce at the brewery - lightly hazy gold - presents more like a tripel than a saison - fairly sweet, with notes of peach, white grape, peppery spice, melon - some kind of unclean phenolics on the tail end - messy, but not terrible.
