Bottle from Ethiopian restaurant: pours bright gold with no head. Aroma is honey, floral, slight hoppy touch. Hops are more noticeable in the taste where they provide a modest bitterness. Rather sweet. Fine.

2004 bottle at Addis Red Sea in Boston. Pours a syrupy looking brilliant gold with no head, lazy bubbles. Aroma of spicy citrus (orange peel, curacao) and honey. Flavor is honey sweet, yet somehow crisp and lightly spiced (must be the hops). White grapes, even apple flavors show up and it has a very delightful body, not thin or watery, nor is it cloying or syrupy. Very good stuff, though I havent tasted many meads.
