Description
Box Social Brewing was established in 2015 by father and son duo Steve and Ross Holland. The brewery's aim is to create new and exciting beers to get people talking to each other and question their perception of beer.

After a long time working out of Steve's garage, brewing beer really just for ourselves, we decided to take the plunge and set up shop in a small industrial estate in Newburn on a 6 Barrel kit. We built a small tasting room on site so people could come and taste the freshest beer possible and began working on our beer range. Four years later, we were selling out of beer faster than we could make it and decided we had to take the next step.

We moved into our new 15 Barrel brewery in February 2019. This has allowed us to create not only better beer, but more of it!

Cask at Box Social, Newcastle. Hazy golden amber colour, creamy white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of tropical fruit, hoppy. Taste is malt caramel balanced with mango, tropical fruits, and spicy citrus, pine, hop resin bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry dusty bitter finish. Very drinkable IPA.

0,33 flaske (thanks, Steve!), på hytta siste dag føe hjemreise okt-17: klar gylden med ok skum. Milde citrusfruter, hint av granskudd og gress. Slank og lettdrikkelig med fruktig bitterhet i avslutningen, but doesn't stand out in the crowd.

Handpull cask at the Fell Bar, Kendal. Mid- to dark gold, clear and flat. Tangerine peel and pine needles in the hippy and slightly sweaty aroma. Bittersweet taste with fresh fruit notes from the zesty Hop. Fades a bit toward the finish. Bitter kumquat peel in the aftertaste. Not amazing but I certainly enjoyed this.

Black beer, lively beige head. Smells of dry, toasty malt. Taste is sweeter than I anticipated. Sweet chocolate, a dash of coffee, malt and some caramel that comes through in the aftertaste. But it’s not overbearing or sickly. Lovely.

Cask @ Head Of Steam, Leeds. Black-brown with next to no head. Strong tasting and sweet too, its roasted malts are best in its nose as its not overly stated within its style in taste. Has a nice smoothness to it though.

Cask @ Head Of Steam, Leeds. Cloudy dark brown with a small creamy head. Smoothish tasting, is crisp, with a mix of darker malt and wheat beer in its styling. There’s a sweetness too with the banana evident albeit light.

Firstly I should point out that I’ve never had an actual real life bona fide raspberry mojito. Keg at Wolf, Birmingham. Pungent and almost smoky raspberry aroma. An opaque peach. Very thin white head. Sour with a certain bitterness to it. Tart raspberry. Citrus. Salty traces. Medium bodied. Slick, especially around the back of the teeth. Low key carbonation and finish. Refreshing and positively restrained.
