Good straightforward stout. Settle by a real coal fire and melt into it...

Can bought at the brewpub. Aroma has sweet stone fruit. Peel. Hazy-opaque dark gold. Thin foamy translucent white head. Light bitter. Slightly sour edge. Followed by restrained sweetness. Pleasent stone fruit and low key citrus. Hints of onion. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Perfectly pleasent but shy.

Keg at the brewpub. Aroma is quite rich (caramel) with a herbal (tea) edge (the bit on the side). Slightly opaque amber. Foamy white head. Hmmm... not really getting overt tea... more resin and caramel. But I think every beer I had today reminded me of caramel so I may just be having some sort of breakdown. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Hits the spot despite this caramel crisis.

Fabulous stout with the old chipotle kick. Does everything it sets out to do

Rather disappointing. Too thin, more like a weak stout
