Pint can from Granzellas. Yellow color with a large white head and thick lacing. Smells bright and hoppy with citrus and floral hops. As it warms the marshmallow aroma loosens up. Sweet, as expected, but balanced flavor with a nice level of hoppy bitters. The marshmallow taste is real, as opposed to artificial, and compliments the brew overall. Medium-light bodied and refreshing.

Can. Hazy amber beer with a cream head. Light pine aroma. Summer fruit and light pine flavor. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Summer fruit and light pine linger.

Can pour from Valley Beverage, Sherman Oaks. It's an opaque black (dark brown at the bottom of the glass) with light sparkle, 1/2-finger beige head with poor retention and light lacing. Aroma is strong chocolate and rum/liqueur. Taste is strong dark chocolate/fudge, an overarching sweetness like rum/liqueur, earthy roasted malt and vague nuts. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and sweet finish as taste with only the mildest bitterness in the finish. Overall, not sure why I'm getting the rum/liqueur flavor but can't say I mind! A sweet, dessert sipper to be sure, and a tad thin, but delicious. Wish the pecan had been higher.

Pours a brown-black color with a thin light beige head that diminishes quickly to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of malt, rum, oak and chocolate. Medium to full body with flavors of roast malt, chocolate, dark fruit and oaky rum. The finish is roasty with a rum raisin aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Sample at the brewpub. Brown-black pour with a thin tan head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Small patches of lace. Chocolate, malt and mint on the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of dark chocolate, peppermint and roast malt. The finish is mint chocolate and malt. Pretty good overall.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear orange-gold color with a medium bone white head that recedes steadily to a film. Sparse strings of lace. Herbal hops, fruit and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, citrus and sweet malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a dank fruity hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, tropical fruit and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Light-bodied with flavors of herbal hop, citrus and bready malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrus and hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Citrus aroma with notes of grassy hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hop, grapefruit and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Above average overall.
