Draught @ the brewpub. Clear golden with a small foamy white head, bread aroma with a bit of alcohol, high carbonation, mildly bitter malty taste with alcohol undertones, quite crisp body, abrupt finish with a bit of alcohol aftertaste, I don't quite understand why they needed to brew a high alcohol pilsener.

12oz can. Looks nice, but tastes kind of odd. Perhaps just too much extract/puree/syrup. Too much fakeness going on. Not really that good. Inexpert overboard weak sauce.

Tap at Art History. A little buttery. An OK IPL for sure, but maybe not up to the illustrious AH standards.

Tap at Wolfden. Big vanilla in the aroma. Tastes really sugary. Some amberish medium malt tone but just seem sugar pushed and not that much depth. Brown sugar finish, some winter warmer touches.

Tap at Wolfden. Bready, a little rough around the edges. Doesn't really have a German feel. Not that great.

Nitro pour at Wolfden. Rich, creamy, spot on Dry Stout. Refreshing, easy drinking with chocolate and roast coffee notes. Right on.

Sample at SKB's Little Key tap room. I tend to be wary of things with nuts in them, but this was a pleasant surprise. No big nut flavors, which is on its favor. A nice, malty beer, reminiscent of Goose Island's much-missed Hex Nut Brown Ale.

Remember the white stouts that were going to be a thing before hazebro IPAs took over? Made with the same amount of malt as a stout, but with lighter roasts and maybe some wheat? Well, this is one of those. Color of a murky amber ale, with a thin ring of foam hanging about. Sweet nose of strawberries and creme, like the Creme Lifesavers. I appreciate that the smell of these beers only becomes apparent when I bring the glass up to my nose, since so many of these added flavors can get overwhelming. The taste has me thinking of strawberry Starbursts. It's a stronger flavor than the previous two, but again, it sits well and lets the lactose work, too. The most candy-like of the beers, and one that seems to thicken as I get to the end. I can feel the alcohol work on me pretty well, too.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear yellow color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to a wispy film. Spotty lace. Citrus, wheat and malt in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of tart lemon, wheat and bready malt. The finish is mildly tart with a citrusy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at the brewpub. Cloudy straw-gold color with a thin white head that evaporates steadily to a wispy film. Spotty lace. Aroma of wheat, fruit and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of wheat, melon, bready malt and a touch of hops. The finish is wheaty with a melon aftertaste. Decent overall.
