Cask at The Colchester Winter ale festival 2026, Colchester, Essex. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium bubbly beige head on top. Cinnamon, orange, spice, dark fruit. Not bad.

29/1/2026. Cask at the 17th Colchester Winter Ale Festival. Pours fine. Very festive aroma. Dried fruits, mixed spices, orange, cinnamon, plum pudding. Medium sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Good.

500ml bottle from the brewery’s stand in Stowmarket. Light reddish brown and clear with a tiny swirl of off-white head. Malty annd woody aroma, caramel light character of raisin. Bittersweet initial taste, strong Marmite on toast character. Bitter as hell finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Not my vibe exactly but well made for what it is.
