On tap at Reuben’s, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Nose is full of diacetyl; there’s nothing but butter here. Flavour is pure butter — fuck right off. This was apparently Reuben’s fault for letting the keg sit half-empty for too long and exposing it to air. But it’s fucked either way.

4oz pour at Chuck's Greenwood. Pours slightly hazy yellow with white head. Aroma has doughy malts, fresh grass, some pine. Flavour is pretty similar, dough malts, fresh grass, bitter pine. Nice.

On tap at WABF 2024, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of grassy hops, crisp crackery malt, and straw. Flavour is vibrantly hopped, with grassy hops, crisp crackery malt, and dry biscuity malt. Grassy, crisp and balanced. Very good.

Draft pour at WBF, Fisher Pavillion. Clean, light, golden pour, thin, patchy head. Has a creamier body than others in the style. Grassy hop profile shines here. Flavorful pilsner. Crushable taste. Very good pils here.

Dark brown, not nearly black. Malt aroma, vanilla, alcohol, trace of dark fruits. Good body, sweetish; there are dark sugars, caramel, the roasted malt of a Black IPA, and the same bitterness. Not an Imperial Stout, but it's a pleasant beer.

Dark brown. Sort of a harsh bourbon aroma, but with a lot of chocolate character as well. On the palate, again the bourbon is heavy-handed, with chocolate and molasses undertones. A bit of alcohol slides in, maybe some light fruitiness. It's okay, but certainly seems to be lacking refinement for my taste. Would be good to know what barrel went into this.

500ml shared with Josh (thx for the bottle, man!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: brown with a beige head. Aroma: some roasted malts, a bit of dark fruits and sweetness. Taste: along the same lines, moderately thick, finishes with hoppy bitterness. While it's warming up more complexity shows up in terms of the caramel and dark fruits. Overall: It says it's a blend of the BBA and straight imperial stouts, but it looks like it's mostly the one from the steel as not much of oak is detected. An ok one.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Dark brown with small beige head. Roast malt, hint of chocolate and cola, just a touch metallic on the finish, not much bourbon character. Base seems okay, feel like the barrel aging was a waste.

Medium brown, good dry port character, fruity old ale. More balanced than I was expecting. The base being slightly tart and fruity but not a lot and then an older sort of port barrel.

Dark brown, bubbly head. Quite barrelly but more toffee notes come through than in the Yakutsk. More rounded, raisiny, balanced.
