Some butter, good malt, some piney hop, but yeah, butter. The summer I turned buttery?

On tap at Chuck’s Greenwood, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has tangy hops, citrus, and light pine. Flavour is very odd, with some almost sour citrusy hop character, maybe some butter, and biscuity malt. Something is off here—not quite butter but similarly intrusive. Not good.

On tap at Burke Gilman, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has plenty of maple syrup and bourbon barrels, dark sugars and subdued roasted malt. Flavour is pretty well-balanced, with maple syrup and bourbon barrels, solid roasted malt, and some gentle sugars. Real nice marriage of the maple syrup, bourbon, and roast. Very good.

On tap at Burke Gilman, pours a cloudy dark brown with a tiny beige head. Aroma has soft port barrels, toasted malt, and a touch of fermented out caramel. Flavour is dry, with dry port barrels, toasted malt, and some earthiness. Mostly a function of dry port. Good.

On tap at Burke Gilman, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma has some dank hops, sweat socks, and a touch of pine. Flavour is a bit musty, with sweat socks, some dankness, and a little pine. Reasonable hop expression but a bit too sweaty. Decent.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown, almost no head. Aroma is complex, with rich bourbon barrels, brown sugar, caramel, and some toffee. Flavour tastes more like apple brandy than bourbon, with rich caramel, toffee apple, and brown sugar. Rich maltiness, not too sweet, nice barrel character. Excellent.
