Bottle looks good, very much like the other Hacklberg Jakobi beers. A bit dirty-turbid in the glass. Starts modest yeasty, a bit moldy. Modest fruity like apricot. Weak finish. Nothing really special!

(swing top bottle) Slightly hazy, golden colour with a thick foamy white head Sweet strawy pale malty aroma with a touch of biscuits, draff and honey, accompanied by shades of herbal hops. Sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Strawy malty base with subtle fruity notes and a very shy hops-character; sweetish and slightly sticky malty finish. Not really festival-like ྸ.VIII.09).

(bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a big beige foamy head. Sweet roast-malty aroma with earthy notes, caramel, a tinge of candy and traces of alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Rich toast-malty taste with caramel bread crusts, Blockmalz and much of residual sweetness; Sweet and toast-malty finish with caramel in the aftertaste. A tad too sweet Doppelbock (15.VII.09).

Tannish, lightly cloudy. Thick, falling head. Fruity aroma (banana, orchard fruits). Has a surprising amount of body but the fermentation - the esters and phenols have not fully developed. The malt character is relatively clean.
