Citrus and some good raw barley notes. Quite good for style. Miss malty beers like this in the overdose of hop haze these days. Bitter end. Murky brown pour with good head and lacing. Tap at brewery.

From notes. Pours a near black from a tap with a light head, some lacing. Coffee, roasted aroma, coffee and chocolate flavor notes along with a light smokiness. Good beer.

Tap at the brewpub - Northampton. Pours clear yellow-gold with a fine, foamy white head. The nose has strong pale malts, alcohol and pine needles. Medium sweet flavor with stringent alcohol, more pine needles, white bread, grapefruit rind. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Quite warm to finish with still more pine needles, sweet pale malts, some citrus rind. A bit abrasive and heavy.

Tap at the brewpub - Northampton. Pours lightly hazy gold with a frothy white cap. Slightly jammy citrus fruits on the nose with touches of pine. Medium sweet flavor with dried pine needles, mildly jammy orange and grapefruit, balancing sweet pale malts. Medium to full bodied with fine, spritzy carbonation. Pretty good balance to finish, some resinous hops, light warmth, sweet pale bread. Solid DIPA.
